he Lloyd family of Newalla, Oklahoma was
well-represented at this year’s build off.
Family patriarch Rick Lloyd’s 1926 Model T
Troadster competed in the car portion of the
build, while son Cody Lloyd was chosen on the bike side. Roadster T’s are about as
easy to fi nd as volunteers on moving day, but sometimes you just get lucky. Rick
found his in a ravine while hunting on a farmer’s property 18 years ago, knowing
that he would one day build his dream hot rod. Several other builds came and went
and eventually a tree grew through his roadster. But once his name was drawn he
knew it was time to start. According to Rick, “I almost waited too long – it’s pretty
dang rusty.”
