When editor Steve-O asked what I had cookin’
for this PORK REPORT, my response was the
normal junk. Originally, this space was for car
show coverage in the Lone Star State. Chad (the
former Director of Photography) would always say
he wanted to see more spectators. Over time the
piece has changed to literally be a human interest
commentary. So Steve-O suggested a review - a
sort of ‘BEST OF THE PORK REPORT’, which is so
tough it’s silly. Of the approximately 150,000 pics
I’ve taken since issue #2, maybe 1000 were okay. Of
those maybe 500 were great, maybe about 150 have
been print worthy. Most were taken on the fl y, with
just a handful being staged shoots. Then I began to
sift through two terabytes of images, but most of
them are of builders, drivers, and participants.
Now we have come full circle. I take just as many
pictures of people as I do cars. I’m a detail
and abstract guy - it’s the innuendo that
I’m after. I’m just plain lucky to grace these
pages, and glad as hell to have been here.
This position has led me to meet some of
the neatest people around. Rough ones,
clean-cut ones, wild ones and pious ones
- Americans!
So instead of blathering on, take a
gander. Thanks for partaking of Rat
Rod Magazine, and making my dream
come true! Thanks for purchasing and
subscribing. Thank you for building and
driving. America is very fractured at
this moment, but one thing connects
us all... THE ROAD.
