Mshifted greatly in the past decade. The
same way smaller corporations were bought
out by larger corporations, smaller magazines

gave way to larger magazines. Smaller, niche
magazines fell away to make more room for
larger, generic magazines. Having subscribed
throughout the years to many magazines that
no longer exist, this breaks my heart. Some

new ways of connecting with readers, as they
become viewers, are more available today:
social media, online video, podcasts—lots of

digital stuff for our digital natives. While I was
an early adopter for the convenience of ebooks
and podcasts, I still fi nd a physical copy hard to
beat when it comes to reading.
