and Turbo 350. The suspension up front utilizes original
Model A pieces, including knee-action shocks and a
transverse spring. A 9” Ford rear puts down the power.
That 327 came out of a ’68 RS/SS Camaro and has
been further fortifi ed with 2.02 heads, roller rockers, a
steel crank, forged pistons, Lunati cam and twin Holley
450’s, perched upon a tunnel ram. Gene had originally
wanted to build a fl athead, but to get the performance
he desired it was going to cost about as much as
the GNP of Holland. Between that and the inevitable
overheating and leaking issues associated with most
fl atheads he opted for the later model drivetrain.
Gene says that in the six years since he bought his
’31, he’s only seen one other 1931 Victoria Tudor. But
thanks to him, many others will now get the chance
to see one.
