The rides on these pages are the passion
of two brothers, Yo (the self-proclaimed boss)
and Alex Kostrzewa, who formed KOS’THOR,
their own private garage dedicated to all things
cool, fast, loud, and American. The ‘KOS’ in the
name is taken from their surname and ‘THOR’
is from their mother’s Viking heritage. There is
a third brother, Tof, who prefers nature, history,
and architecture instead of gasoline and metal,
but still manages to ride a pretty cool Heritage
Classic. One could say that the boys were born
with petrol in their DNA. Their mother rides a
Harley Street Glide, and their late father rode a
’96 Heritage Springer. To quote Yo, “The scent
of freedom is the scent of fuel.”
Yo says that he’s always had a love for
American bikes and muscle cars. They got their
start riding and wrenching on Japanese and
Italian motorcycles but soon added VW’s and
American cars to their roster. Yo upped the
ante in 2009 when he imported a pro street
‘69 Camaro. That first taste of real American
muscle set things in motion for the brothers
and they soon began importing more and
more vehicles. They also built a number of
wicked bobbers for themselves and assorted
friends and family members.
The following year he picked up a ’62
Chevy C10 longbox named ‘The Quackers’.
It’s bagged at all four corners and also rides
on drop spindles in the front to make sure the
ride height is always at a bare minimum. Disc
brakes up front are an added bonus. Out back
is a ’72 Chevy 10-bolt rear and a three-link
rear suspension. Under the hood is a mostly
stock 283. It’s topped with a Holley 650 with
an electric choke and also has HEI for a more
powerful and consistent spark. It’s backed by a
Turbo 350 tranny. Yo drives it everywhere, and
says it rides great. He can easliy fit two of his
motorcycles in the bed.
KOS’THOR’s latest creation is this 1930
Ford 5-window named ‘Nestor’ (which loosely
translated from Polish means ‘vintage’),
purchased from Florida in 2013. The body is
