“ Best Of lists several times – but his build-off winning ’33
”
Gary Fisher has found himself in this magazine and on our
Chevy Sedan Delivery was the build that formally kicked the door
in. Its old school charm and blue-collar styling swayed voters in
2014’s build-off and introduced us to one hell of a builder and
ambassador for rat rod culture. You can say the panel is borderline
“traditional,” but then again – it’s a build-off winner from a pool
of amazing vehicles that crossed genres and shattered rat rod
paradigms, so giving it a nod here feels right.

This ’28 Model A is exactly what comes to mind
when we think “prototypical” rat rod. Traditionally
styled but combining mis-match components and
proudly displaying its scars – we dig the beauty of
distress and the visible signs of “life” only Mother
Nature could craft. The patch-work aesthetic
reinforces the “build what you have with what you’ve
got” mentality, and we love the hell out of this thing.
