That’s Crazy
We proceeded to the Bahamas and he tried his best to stop
drinking, but he could not. I tried to explain how his drinking
reminded me of my grandfather and uncle and all the other alcoholics
in my family. I hated seeing them drunk and I hated seeing him drunk.
When we returned from the Bahamas, I started working from
home. I again noticed Leroy's cell phone bill and a phone number that
seemed to appear too often. I found and examined previous cell phone
bills. I noticed that calls were being made to one particular number at
odd hours and on holidays. I looked at Leroy's computer and figured
out that this number was one of his customers.
Leroy would always reference this customer as Ms. Moore. I kept
asking, “Who is this, Ms. Moore,” and he would always refer to her as
his customer. I then began checking his phone daily to monitor the
incoming and outgoing calls. I continued to see Ms. Moore’s’ number
appear, and the heavy drinking continued.
At this point is when I believe I became paranoid about his
drinking and the cell phone calls. I began checking his truck for empty
wine bottles. When I would ask him if he had been drinking, he would
deny it. One day, I told him I was going to attend Al-Anon, and he
told me he thought it was a good idea and he would support me. I
knew then, this Negro was CRAZY.
