there were people in my life who were CRAZY and I guess I was trying

to hold onto what little sanity I had and not completely lose it,
anything to help me stop crying.

I had to deal with Leroy's drinking issue. From day one the

pattern of the marriage had been that I would not bother him about
his drinking, and he would not bother me about my smoking. At the
beginning of this year, I knew that I could not go on as we were. I

could not stand Leroy's behavior when he was drunk, I also knew he

was driving drunk, which scared me to death. I was concerned about
the liability. I knew that if he hit someone or hurt himself, I would be

ruined forever. So I attempted to address our issues in January.

My first attempt was to get marriage counseling. My sister's

friend, Courtney, had recommended a minister she knew. I had told
her about my suspicions regarding Leroy's cheating and drinking. I

had set up Leroy in business and he kept all his computer records on
my computer.

I was working at home in February and found copies of Leroy's
cell phone bill. He should have known better; I am a cop's daughter. I

looked at his cell phone bill and found a phone number that indicated

he had been speaking to someone consistently. I also knew that Leroy
had been drinking heavily, based on the 5 empty bottles of Wild Irish
Rose in the trash can.

Our first attempt with the counseling was at a Pentecostal church;
neither of us had a church home.
