Fighting the Spirit

y the time I arrived in Vail, I was still fuming. Based on my

previous years of attending and networking with the sistahs at
the summit, many of them had heard my story regarding the

crazy business partner and crazy husband.

This year the organizer had invited me to facilitate a workshop on

starting a business. I tried to pull myself together with the Face because
I had to present professionalism. I could not let the host know my

world had just been rocked.

The host had arranged for me and another speaker to be picked

up at the airport. God's order again, the other speaker was Jewel
Diamond Taylor, the speaker and author of "Too Blessed to Be

Stressed." I had met Jewel the first time I attended the retreat when

she was hosting the pajama party. My face has always been a dead
giveaway of my emotions. Jewel could see the anger on my face, and

I had to tell someone because I was still ready to explode. Jewel
listened and counseled me the entire ride to the hotel. We had lunch
