That’s Crazy
developed another close relationship with the sister from Wilmington,
Delaware.
When I arrived in Baltimore, Christine had brought one of our
praying sister friends, Dawn. My first family of sisters had come back
full circle. I had met both Christine and Dawn at my first job. I told
Dawn, I wanted her to go to the house with us and pray, pray to
remove whatever evil spirit was present in the house. I was never
taught how to pray in Catholicism, we were given the prayers and
never had a direct relationship with God.
Christine kept asking if I was sure about staying at the house. I
was confident and well prayed up from the Sistah Summit. Christine
wanted to stop by her house before we went to mine. As we arrived
at Christine’s house, the phone rang; it was “Big Poppa.” He had
always known how to track me down. Christine told him I was alright,
and she was staying with me. We moved on to my house.
It was the first time Dawn had seen the house and, of course, she
was in awe. We all went to the master bedroom, and she placed
Yolanda Adam’s CD in the player. I will always hold the song, Open
My Heart, in my soul. As the song played, Christine, Nadia and I sat in
a circle on the floor. Dawn began to pray for about an hour as we held
hands. After the prayer, I felt at peace, I could now sleep in my bed
without thinking about what had occurred there.
