Gary McGann – Chairman of Sisk Group – Sicon Ltd
The John Sisk and Son Construction Board reports to The Sisk Group (Sicon Ltd). Stephen Bowcott
has recently been appointed to The Sicon Board. The Sicon Board is collectively responsible for
the leadership, control and long-term success of the Group. At the end of last year Gary McGann
became our Group Chairman, so we thought it was about time we told you a little bit about him.
Some of you may have met Gary already as he has visited a number of projects recently with
other Sicon Directors. Gary is the former Group Chief Executive Officer of the Smurfit Kappa Group, one of the
leading providers of paper-based packaging solutions in the world. Before joining the Jefferson Smurfit Group
he was Group CEO of Aer Lingus and CEO of Gilbeys of Ireland. He is Chairman of Aon Ireland and Paddy
Power plc, a Director of Green Reit plc, a Director and former President of IBEC (Irish Business and Employers’
Confederation), and a Director of the UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School. He is married to Moira
and they have three daughters and two granddaughters.
