Brian Dillon, the Quality Improvement Manger in Ireland, encourages staff to do two things to make a positive contribution towards improving quality in Sisk:
1. Follow the guidance above and use the self-learning facilities
2. Support this Q10 with case studies and evidence from your own projects
Brian and the Q10 leaders are keen to receive your feedback and ideas, so please don’t hesitate to contact them.
There are bene ts to using this structured approach and the system has proven to be very successful. Karl Ennis, an engineer at our Capital Docks project, has found the system incredibly useful in his work on the façades. He said:
“I found the presentation very informative with particular interest in the BET Specialist consultant section.
“It highlighted and prompted me to check the requirements of the on-site testing required as per the speci cation for the precast and glazing elements of the unitised façade being used on the residential buildings here in Capital Docks.
“The poster ... has been of great value to myself and the site engineers as it is up in the of ce to remind any engineers dealing with the façade what to be on the lookout for as regards quality items on site.”
Please keep alert for the Q3: Passive Fire Protection due shortly and please display and make use of the posters and presentations available now for Q1 and Q2.
