There’s a secret to having the ability to push past risk and break through barriers of fear. The truth is, if we are walking in awareness (and I trust that you are not sleepwalking through your life) we will feel those gentle nudges telling us, “It’s time for growth.”
Now, I can’t tell you how your particular situation will happen, because we are all different, but I can assure you that it will!
The Bible tells us, “Everything has a season. There is a time for planting and a time for harvest. There is a time for mourning and a time for laughing.” These images represent change, movement, and growth.
I want you to learn to look at change in a different way. I want to help you “see” today. People who seem to face change and transition fearlessly aren’t braver than you. They aren’t more skilled, smarter or more equipped. They just look at change differently.
Now that I’ve told you the story of my root-bound rosemary, I want you to remember it. If you’re cozy and comfortable, if you aren’t stretching yourself and reaching for higher ground, I want you to ask yourself, “Am I becoming root-bound?” Chances are good that you are.
And the truth of the matter is, if you don’t take the leap over to
the new, roomy pot where your roots can spread out and
flourish, you’re going to wither. If we start seeing differently, we 37
