will recognize that staying the same isn’t ‘safety.’ It’s death! We can only flourish in the pot we are currently in as long as there is room to grow. That’s why our life moves in stages, from goal to goal, one foot in front of the other!
Yes, kindergarten was fun, but we moved on to first grade! After that it was middle school, then high school and college. How silly would it be to stay in kindergarten? Then why is it that when we become adults, we often fear the very thing we were encouraged to do for the first 20 years of our lives? Learn and grow. Learn and grow. Was it frightening? Sure! I remember my first day of high school. It was exciting and terrifying at the same time, but guess what? I broke through the terror barrier and so did you!
Bring these things to mind when you’re standing at that next crossroad and it’s obviously time to move forward. Ask yourself the following questions:
1. Have I learned?
2. Have I grown?
3. Have I fulfilled this portion of my journey?
4. Am I too comfortable?
5. Is it time to move forward?
If you are honest with yourself, you will recognize that root-
bound feeling before you get to question five.
