Dr. David Costello is a professional learning facilitator who focuses on
mathematics instruction and learning. He is the author of four practical math
books designed to support educators in moving student learning forward. David
has served as a district and provincial curriculum consultant and professional
learning math lead for Prince Edward Island, Canada. Currently, he is an
elementary school principal with experience in both single-grade and combined-
grade classrooms—experience that grounds his work in the reality of teaching
          and learning.

David has presented at numerous regional, national, and international
conferences and is a columnist for the OAME Gazette. He was an invited guest
on CBC’s The Current, where he discussed the debate between skills-based and
constructivist approaches to mathematics, and he has also served as a reviewer
          for a national math program.

Through his varied experiences and passion for instruction and learning, David is
sought after by schools, districts, and educational organizations to address their
professional learning needs. He helps educators make meaningful, manageable
instructional shifts that enhance student understanding and supports systems in
          developing sustainable plans for improvement.

We are honored to welcome Dr. David Costello to SCCTM and extend our thanks
to David Costello Math for sponsoring his participation and supporting
          educators’ professional growth.
