Finding Our Place: Developing a Deeper Understanding of
Place Value
Place value understanding is key to building strong opera�onal skills. We will learn
how to help students develop an understanding of number magnitude through
number sense rou�nes and coun�ng collec�ons. This session will explore the
progression of understanding that “a ten” is made of “ten ones,” a fundamental
place value concept. Grades PreK - 5
