Are Our Instruconal Strategies Truly Meeng the Needs of Our Diverse Learners in Math?

Educators are dedicated to implemenng evidence-based strategies, yet achievement gaps persist.
During this session we will examine our current pracces and systems of support and explore how to
accurately measure their effecveness through clear success indicators, sytemac data collecon
protocols, and consistent progress monitoring. Grades PreK - 12

MathCounts - Free Club program, more than compeon, from basics to advanced. It is a program
designed for all math skill levels of students 6-8th grade. Math knowledge and scores are lower in the
US, than it has been in years, we have to work together to bring our students skills sets above other
states. It is vital to SC workforce. Grades 6 - 8

                                       Session 149 will be held in 101 B from 11:00 - 11:25.

Solve an Absolute Value Equaon Like No Other with Mulple Creave Clever Ways to Do It

One of my new favorite acvies that involves using graphs, tables, factoring, the quadrac formula, as
well as having students THINK! Students will need to reason analycally about absolute value equaons
and quadrac equaons in ways that they have not been asked to do before. Mulple soluon paths.
This will be a fun one! Grades 6 - 12
