AUSTRALASIAN DANCE ASSOCIATION
Joey Gandin from Nadia’s Performance Studio in Wetherill Park NSW
History:
Australasian Dance Association commenced as the FATD in Sydney in 1931, making it the oldest dance organisation in the southern hemisphere. All syllabuses have undergone continual upgrades to ensure our members are capable of performing and teaching any style of dance. Each grade has a very strong technical base that develops as the students progresses. This will always support the dancer/teacher throughout their career.
The Association was incorporated in 1981, and has a current membership covering Australia as well as Malaysia, Thailand and New Zealand.

• Promote interest in and knowledge of dance in its various forms.
• Adhere to and foster a comparatively
uniform system of instruction built upon universally recognised technicalities of dance, with which to develop the dancer in both leisure time and competitive spheres, and prepare those in pursuit of a dance teaching career.
• Promote the retention and upgrading of standards for dance educators.
• Award to teachers of dance diplomas of
qualifications based upon assessment by examination.
One of Australia’s leading experienced acrobatic teachers, Lesley Scott, has created the ADA AcroDance syllabus and will be conducting 3 sessions with her professional team.
