A QUALITY FLOW SENSOR
Designed to cover a large flow measurement range, the PF3A8#H-L is the latest addition to SMC’s flow switch range. The modular flow sensor monitors the condition of the main line, branch, or specific equipment through an easyto read four screen display.
The PF3A8#H-L’s 100:1 flow ratio can
detect small leaks of 10LPM or more and
monitor main line air consumption and
pressure up to 2000LPM, and simultaneously measure air pressure and temperature. The PF3A8#H-L three colour and two line screen display can rotate in 90 degree increments, allowing operators to take notes and set the flow switch while checking the measured value.
SMC Corporation Australia New Zealand product marketing manager Guiomar Fernandez said the true benefit of this component lies in its ability to offer more detailed information thanks to its IO-link compatibility, together with switchable NPN/PNP output.
The modular flow sensor is durable through its bore type structure made with aluminium alloy.
A DURABLE PLASTIC SOLUTION
Cut to Size Plastics supplies Wearply reinforced plastic composites that weigh less than aluminium but have up to 10 times the strength of 1020 steel. Wearply’s durability comes from epoxy resins being reinforced with continuously aligned non-woven filaments. It can withstanding millions of stress cycles at 1400 bar (20,000 psi) without fatigue failure. The plastic has improved electrical resistance, high-strength to weight performance, resistance to fatigue, temperature stability, chemical and corrosion resistance, elastic storing capacity, and reduced vibration, noise and shock
qualities. The material enhances the design and performance of machinery, plant components, and leaf
spring assemblies to ensure optimum performance and reliability.

CERTIFIED MODULAR PERFORMANCE
The igus e-skin flat modular designed energy supply system, available from Treotham, safely guides particle-free energy chains to cables and hoses in compact installation spaces in cleanrooms. The system is a cost effective alternative to ribbon cables.
The Fraunhofer Institute’s Cleanroom Technology Excellence Centre tested the supply system with three layers of four chambers each, including support chains, cables, and hoses. Testers checked emissions at three key points. The chain was the only cleanroom energy chain to receive ISO Class 1 according to ISO 14644-1 with a bend radius of 70 millimetres.
Igus GmbH cleanroom technology industry manager Peter Mattonet says the e-skin flat stands out as a particle- free, compact energy supply system for the cleanroom.
Utilising a regularly tested high- performance plastic, the system is wear and abrasion resistant, with its single- layer variant being Cleanroom Class 1 since its release in 2019.
Cables and hoses can seamlessly be installed into the flat profiles and replaced during maintenance, while its fully configurable system allows for application in any scenario. The igus e-skin flat energy can consist of up to six chambers per layer, with the three- layered structure providing chain stability by supporting chains in the lowest layer. Specifically for use in the e-skin flat, igus has also developed CFCLEAN series which can transmit energy and signals for motor control, bus, and ethernet through the cable cores.

CONTROLLING THE FLOW
In situations where a heavy amount of liquid needs to be applied but there is no liquid pressure, Exair’s 1/2” Siphon Fed air atomising spray nozzle can be the solution. It provides liquid flow up to 259 LPH
(68.3 GPH) in a 152mm (6”) diameter round pattern. Drawing liquid into the airstream and mixing it internally, the corrosion resistant type 303SS nozzle
provides up to 610mm (24”) of suction height. Its patented no drip design protects surfaces from drips and reduces wastage. The adjustment valve allows for simple changes to the liquid flow to meet specific application needs.
Made with stainless-steel, the range of air atomising
spray nozzles available from Compressed Air Australia allow for coating, cooling, treating, and using compressed air and liquids to paint with a viscosity of up to 300 centipoise.
Commonly used with water, light oils, detergents, rust inhibitors, chemicals, paints, and dye, atomising nozzles provide an efficient method to evenly sanitise, cool, coat, wash, and rinse. Available with 1/8”, 1/4” and 1/2” connections, the five-year built to last warranty nozzles all have a mounting bracket and are adjustable.

Cut to Size Plastics MD Laurie Green said: “Reinforcement is oriented to give greater strength and stiffness in the direction, or directions, in which it is most needed.
Parallel filaments resist the stress abrasion that can shorten the fatigue life in
conventional reinforced plastics.”
