We have heard many situations where teachers inspired students to

improve their quality of life by continuously learning. We have also heard the
opposite – where students inspired the teachers to improve by continuously

searching for new knowledge to teach. This booklet is a result of both.

TABIKA/TASKA KEMAS teachers or Pendidik Masyarakat (as they are aptly

known) are one of the most passionate, energetic educators out there. They
will never hesitate to study new information and learn a new skill if that would

help them become better at what they do. Unfortunately, sometimes passion

and energy are not enough. So, this is where the guide comes in handy.

English may have been Malaysia’s second language for many years, yet

it still provides us with a lot of challenges today. Be it in a form of grammatical
misunderstanding, bad vocabulary choices, or unclear pronunciations, these

challenges in some ways prevent the teachers from unleashing their best.

With the help of 24 TABIKA/TASKA KEMAS teachers, this handbook was

created with only one purpose; that is to serve as a guideline in their journey

toward mastery over English and classroom betterment.
