HOW TO MAKE WAJIK TAKIAK






                  Ingredients   :

                      ●  1kg of white sticky rice
                      ●  1kg of palm sugar
                      ●  3L of water
                      ●  500g of sugar
                      ●  5 old coconuts
                      ●  1 teaspoon of salt
                      ●  5 pandanus leaves
                      ●  Plastic wrap

                  Steps  :

                      1.  In a large bowl, soak white sticky rice in cold water for at least 1 hour. Drain and set it
                         aside.
                      2.  Steam the sticky rice in a hot pot for at least 30 minutes until its cooked well. After that,
                         turn off the heat and drain the sticky rice again.
                      3.  Boil water with palm sugar and white sugar on high heat for at least 15 minutes. Stir them
                         lightly.
                      4.  Grate the coconuts and squeeze them with 3L of water. Set it in a large bowl.
                      5.  Simmer the coconut milk with pandanus leaves in a pot on high heat. Then pinch some salt
                         into it.
                      6.  Pour the melted palm sugar into the milk and stir it constantly until thickened and smooth.
                      7.  Add the white sticky rice into the pot and mix them well.
                      8.  Line a baking sheet with a plastic wrap. Put the dough in it and gently roll it out. Cool it for
                         at least 30 minutes. After that, cut Wajik Takiak and serve it immediately.
