lege affords, and that privilege is no longer applicable. The
attorney-client privilege was designed to facilitate the admin-
istration of justice, not to thwart it.
In addition-nothing contained in this book is designed to
cast a shadow of doubt on the competency of our District
Attorney's office, our police departments, the Department of
Children's Services, psychiatrists and/or the media. The ref-
erences made in this book concerning the above mentioned
agencies are referenced only to give an account of what actu-
ally transpired during the case. In no way do I wish to cast
doubt regarding their competence and/or credibility.
I thank God for the many men and women who work with
the District Attorney's office, the many police department agen-
cies, the court system, the Department of Children's Services,
the psychiatrists and the media. It is a joint effort on all of their
parts that keep our streets safe on a day to day basis. Although
I make strong comments concerning the handling of this case,
I must point out that they were all operating under the belief
that a crime against a child had actually been committed. While
I applaud their efforts in seeking justice, it appears that many
of them got caught up in the frenzy and did not want to let go
when no evidence to support the allegations could be found.
