The Child Molestation

Investigation

On August 17, 1993, the child molestation investigation
began with the Los Angeles Police Department serving search
warrants on Michael Jackson's Neverland Ranch. Michael Jack-
son had gone to Bangkok, Thailand to begin his Dangerous
World Tour and was not there during the search of his home.
During the search, several boxes of photographs and video-
tapes were removed from the premises.
On August 21, 1993, the Police Department served a search
warrant on Michael Jackson's Century City condo. The Los
Angeles Police Department came under immediate attack as
to how they were able to obtain the search warrants based
solely on the allegations of one 13-year old boy. The police are
normally required to have probable cause that a crime has
been committed before they can obtain a search warrant from
a Judge.
Michael Jackson's phone book was confiscated and the
police contacted just about everyone in it to question them
about alleged wrongdoing by Michael Jackson. The 13-year
old boy also provided the police with the names of other boys
that he claimed were molested by Michael Jackson. The police
investigated every lead and every child that was alleged to
have been molested. They even began to interrogate Michael
Jackson's friends, family, employees and former employees.
