Relationships and Empathy: The Foundation of Safe, Supportive Schools
In this month’s CASDA EdCast, CASDA faculty member Brian Farr and Thomas Andriola,
Chief of Policy and Implementation at the NYS Office of Youth Justice, discuss how the
concept of school safety must be contextualized for all students to be safe and thrive.
They explore ideas such as ACEs, implicit bias, SEL, restorative practices and building
