London Bridge Hospital’s Oncology Unit at Private Care at Guy’s provides a range of inpatient, outpatient and day case oncology services.
The inpatient unit specialises in medical and surgical oncology, where patients are cared for in private rooms with en-suite facilities. This includes breast surgery, urology, gynaecology, head, neck and thyroid surgery, as well as diagnostic and interventional radiology.
The chemotherapy treatment suite is made up of 18 individual bays for the administration of chemotherapy, immunotherapy and infusions. Within the unit there are also five fully-equipped consulting rooms servicing our oncologists and haemato-oncologists.
Radiotherapy is provided through the London Radiotherapy Centre. Patients will be referred as required by their consultants.
Our oncology nurses are specially trained to care for patients throughout their cancer treatment.
At our unit we have a team of Clinical Nurse Specialists (CNSs), who see patients from diagnosis through to recovery and beyond. Patients who require supportive care and symptom control are nursed on the inpatient ward, and will be cared
for by a dedicated consultant.
We provide clinical psychological support for any patients who require counselling on a more formal basis. In support of the clinical services provided, a range of complementary therapies are also available for patients during their treatment.
