Household appliances breakdown
Household appliances breakdown is covered if it is noted on your schedule and the
additional premium is charged:
Loss of or damage to your household appliances caused by
• Distortion of the appliance from stress or crushing from internal pressure
• Breaking or burning out of the appliance or its machinery
• Wear and tear and depreciation will be applied as shown below:
Age up to 3 years - no deduction
Age older than 3 years but younger than 6 years - 25%
Age older than 6 years - 50%
Drones & Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS)
What is covered under Drones and Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS)?
Ground Risk - accidental physical loss of or damage, whilst not in flight to an insured
Drone noted on the schedule
Flight Risk - accidental physical loss of or damage, whilst in flight or not in flight to an
insured Drone noted on the schedule and operated by a person older than 16 years of age
“Flight” means from the time it is switched on, moves forward in taking off or attempting to take off,
whilst in the air, and until the UAS completes its landing run. A rotary-wing UAS shall be deemed to be
in Flight when the UAS is switched on and the rotors are in motion as a result of engine power, the
momentum generated therefrom, or autorotation.
In the event of a Total Loss to the specified drone
We will pay the cost of replacement or the Insured Value, whichever shall be the least
amount, less any applicable Excess as stated in the Policy Schedule. The replacement will be
new and the same type and model (or the most similar available model if that particular
model is no longer being manufactured).
We will not pay for:
• Liability to other people – You are not covered for legal liability following an accident
with your drone that causes damage to other people or property
• Drone use for reward or professional purposes
• Wear and tear, deterioration, depreciation, freezing, breakdown, defect or failure
howsoever caused in the Drone.
• Damage occurring when the Drone is being transported unless packed securely in
suitable packaging or by other means.
• Damage to aerial cameras or scanners fixed permanently to the Drone (other than as a
result of an accident) due to scratching, fogging or misting of lens.
• Any damage to the Drone if the lifting weight recommended by the Manufacturer for
the Drone make and model is exceeded when any Payload is attached.
