153. The impressions are in unmanifest form in the (seed of the) intellect (causal body).
Consciousness reflects in the (seed of the) intellect (causal body). This reflection is unclear but
should be inferred, like the reflection of the sky in a cloud.

säbhäsameva tadbéjaà dhérüpeëa prarohati |
ato buddhau cidäbhäso vispañöaà pratibhäsate || 154||
s-AaÉasm! = with reflection of Consciousness; @v = alone; tÓIjm! = that seed; xIêpe[ = in the
form of the intellect; àraehit = develops; At> = so; buÏaE = in intellect; ict!-AaÉas> = reflection of
Consciousness; ivSpòm! = very clearly; àitÉaste = shines.
154. That seed (Maya), in association with the reflection of Consciousness, develops in the form of
the intellect and in this intellect, the reflection of Consciousness shines very clearly.

mayaÉasen = by reflection of Maya (in Consciousness); jIvezaE = Jiva and Ishvara; kraeit = are
created; #it = thus; ïutaE = in Shruti; ïutm! = is said; me"akaz-jlakazaE #v = like reflection of sky
in a cloud and reflection of sky in water; taE = those two; suVyviSwtaE = are.
155. It is said in Shruti that Jiva and Ishvara are created by Maya, due to its reflection (in
Consciousness). Those two are like meghaakaasha and jalaakaasha. Ishvara is like the reflection of
the sky in a cloud and Jiva is like the reflection of sky in water.
