9. The Verb







          VeVerb is a word that expresses an act, clearance or state of being.

               There are three kinds of verb :


                                                             Verb







                     Transitive Verb                 Intransitive Verb                  Incomplete Verb



          1.  Transitive Verb : A transitive verb is one that requires an object to complete its

               sense.


               Examples :      (a) The teacher scolded the students            .

                                (b) Raman won the match           .


                                (c) Rani loves her dog      .


          2.  Intransitive Verb : An intransitive verb is one that does not require an object to
               complete its sense.


               Examples :      (a) Sameer smiles       .


                                (b) The boy cries    .

                                (c) The river flows    .


                                (d) The child plays    .


                                (e) The Sun shines      .
