1. The Sentence




          Read the following groups of words :

               1.  beautiful what garden a!

               2.  fountain is there a garden in the?

               3.  do the pluck not flowers.

               4.  garden the many has flowers.

          Now read the same groups of words in correct order :

               1.  What a beautiful garden!

               2.  Is there a fountain in the garden?

               3.  Do not pluck the flowers.

               4.  The garden has many flowers.

          Now each group of words above makes a complete sense. Therefore, we see that
          when words are placed in their proper order that expresses complete sense or

          thought they form, what is called a sentence              .

               A sentence is a group of words that makes a complete sense.

          When you write a sentence you must remember these three things :

               1.  The words must be placed in a proper order to make a complete sense.

               2.  The sentence must begin with a capital letter.

               3.  The  sentence  must  end  with  a  full  stop  (.),  a  question  mark  (?)  or  an

          exclamation mark (!).

          Parts of Sentence
          Every sentence has two parts :

          Now, look at the following :

               1.  The children are playing music.
