ENTRUSTMENT CEREMONY

                               PRESS RELEASE : ENTRUSTMENT CEREMONY CONDUCTED
                                BY THINGHAT BATTALION ASSAM RIFLES ON 08 MAR 2018

                  1.     In  an  enterprising  endeavour  aimed  at  reaching  out  to  the  far  flung  areas  of  the
                  remote  Singngat  Sub-Division  of  Churachandpur  distt,  Thinghat  Battalion  Assam  Rifles
                  conducted a grand Entrustment Ceremony on 08 March 2018, to handover various projects

                  under ‘Operation Sadbhavana’ to the local population.  The event was inaugurated by Shri
                  Ginsuanhau  Zou,  MLA  Singngat  and  Chairman  MANIREDA.    Amongst  the  other  notable

                  persons present in the ceremony were MDC Singngat and Lungthul.

                  2.     The  event  started  with  handing  over  of  books  to  school  library  of  Hill  Model  High
                  School  Singngat  followed  by  a  computer  and  printer  set  being  given  to  St  Mary’s  High

                  School Beheng and a Bus waiting shed at village Shelbu.  The event was attended by locals
                  in large numbers including Chiefs from border villages.

                  3.     This  all  encompassing  event  included  a  cultural  performance  by  the  students  of

                  Singngat as well as Assam Rifles.  In order to capitalise on the huge gathering, unit hospital
                  in  collaboration  with  PHC  Singngat  conducted  a  Deworming  cum  medical  awareness
                  programme for 1374 individuals (from age1-19 years).


                  4.     The purpose of this event was make the local population equal stake holders in the

                  growth story of the nation.  Struck by lack of opportunity and awareness, the attendees were
                  apprised of various employment opportunities through a career counseling cell established

                  during the event along with distribution of Rs.45,000/- as scholarship programme for under
                  privileged and physically challenged students from six schools under various categories from
                  Singngat.


                  5.     The  event  was  supplemented  with  a  weapon  on  display  organised  by  Thinghat

                  Battalion  for  the  youth  of  Singngat.    Given  the  bon-homie  generated  today  with  the  local
                  population,  it  will  serve  as  harbinger  for  change  and  script  a  new  narrative  for  the

                  underdeveloped belt towards a mutually beneficial and synergised discourse on the path of
                  progress and prosperity.
