Stage Combat (Gr 8-12, Morning) VS08D19
Punch, slap, and parry your way through the fundamentals of stage combat! Participants in this fast-paced, physical intensive will learn techniques for armed and unarmed combat onstage, creating the illusion of chaos and danger in a safe, controlled way. From movement and flexibility to stage presence and teamwork, participants will regale audiences with their new skills in a showcase on Friday morning.

Sculpting Space (Gr 8-12, Afternoon) VS08E19
Go big or go home! Collaborate with other artists to create art installations on the Arsenal on the Charles campus! Participants work together to build and install site- specific works responding to both the environment of the campus and famous works of sculpture. Friends and family are encouraged to celebrate the artists’ accomplishments and view their work as part of our Friday student exhibit.

Clay For Days (Gr 8-12, Full Day) VS09E19
Roll up those sleeves and dive into clay! Participants learn to use the full breadth of tools available in the MCA ceramics studio--from the pottery wheel to wax resist and slab roller to carving tools. Both functional and sculptural works are included in this in-depth exploration of ceramics. Friends and family are encouraged to celebrate the artists’ accomplishments and view their work as part of our Friday student exhibit.
