People are different in many aspects, one of them is the ethnic identity. My ethnic identity
has been defined by my life – experiences. I consider myself as an Ecuadorian, a Catholic
person and I’m a mixture of cultures.
STEP 5: FINAL DRAFT
Life – experiences define our ethnic identity. My ethnic identity has been developed during
my whole life and it has three main aspects. I’m Ecuadorian, I’m Catholic and I’m a mixture
of cultures.
One aspect of my identity is that I’m Ecuadorian. First, people around the world known us
like kind people. It’s because we have diversity of people. Also, there are many tourists that
visit our country every day, so, we have learnt how to treat people in a good way. Second,
we are superstitious people. Since I was a child, I have heard a lot of legends and tales from
my grandparents. For this reason I believe in those things, despite I haven’t seen anything.
Another aspect is that I’m Catholic. Since I was a baby my family has taught me things
related to God. In addition, I have learnt important values. For example, the importance to
share with others and that it’s important to love people.
Another important aspect of my ethnic identity is that I’m a mixture of different cultures.
First, I have lived in 11 different houses, in 4 different provinces, where I had the opportunity
to learn about different costumes and traditions. For this reason, I have learnt different things
and I have copied that.
People are different in many aspects, one of them is the ethnic identity. My ethnic identity
has been defined by my life- experiences. I consider myself as an Ecuadorian, Catholic and
a mixture of cultures.
