GEOGRAPHY AND ENVIRONMENTAL INFLUENCE
The opening of the science park created a ripple effect in which contributed to the growth of the
population in Barangay La Mesa. Not only that, roads and other infrastructures were built such as
the Opening of Ayala which paved a faster and more efficient route from Bucal, Calamba to Brgy. La
Mesa. Brgy. La Mesa sits on the foot of Mt. Makiling.
Brgy. La Mesa has a covered court in which many events take place such as summer leagues, zumba
sessions, and others.
Roads in this barangay have become an issue because of the growing number of residents and poor
planning, it has become narrow and are really hard to pass through, especially by large vehicles.
Houses are closely built and only a handful of houses are built separately from other houses and not
wall to wall. And due to its high location, water shortages have become a normal issue in this
barangay, luckily, it was resolved by building water towers and other infrastructures that would help
the water service system work efficiently.
The barangay works to maintain a clean and healthy environment so, the local government formed a
committee in which they regularly clean the barangay. Some of these programs are the “regular
hakot basura”, misting, and regular vaccines.
