EVALUATION
The process of judging something's quality, importance, or value, or report that includes this
information.
Types Of Evaluation
Many types of evaluation exist, consequently evaluation methods need to be customised
according to what is being evaluated and the purpose of the evaluation. It is important to
understand the different types of evaluation that can be conducted over a program’s life-
cycle and when they should be used.
Formastive: Valuates a program during development in order to make early improvements,
helps to refine or improve program.
Summative: Provides information on program effectiveness, conducted after the completion
of the program design.
Process: Determines if specific program strategies were implemented as planned, focuses on
program implementation.
Outcomes: Focuses on the changes in comprehension, attitudes, behaviors, and practices
that result from programs activities, can include both short and long term results.
Impact: Focuses on long term, sustained changes as a result of the program activities, both
positive/negative and intended/unintended.
