The Extended Example
Sometimes you may wish to develop an entire paragraph with an
extended, paragraph-length example. In this case, your topic sentence
will state the general idea, and the rest of the paragraph will provide a
detailed example. In this sort of paragraph, it is important to end with a
summary sentence that connects the specific example back to the
general idea, as in the following paragraph.
