Basic subject-verb agreement may seem relatively easy. Beyond the
basic, however, lie verbal traps that can trip up almost anyone. These
include prepositional phrases between subject and verb, indefinite
pronouns as subjects, subjects that follow the verb, and compound
subjects.

It can be easy to make mistakes in subject-verb agreement when a
prepositional phrase comes between a subject and a verb. Crossing
