Run-on Sentences Using Various
Methods
Correct the ten run-on sentences below, using each of the five
methods at least once. Rewrite the corrected portion of each sentence
on the line provided.
1. Chandra is a vegetarian her husband complains he has not
seen a hamburger for months.
2. Alex answered the telephone an annoying robocall greeted him
from the other end.
3. Jan likes blues and rock, her husband prefers Beethoven and
Bach.
4. Highlighters are useful for marking textbooks experts say only
10 to 20 percent of the material should be highlighted.
5. Orientation and study skills courses are a good way to learn to
adjust to the demands of college many students say they
benefit from such courses.
