Missing-Subject Fragments
4 Revise missing-subject fragments.
Fragments beginning with a joining word such as and, or, but, or then
followed by a verb are missing-subject fragments. The subject of
the verb is usually in a previous sentence. Connect the fragment to
the sentence or add a subject to begin a new sentence.
The hurricane changed course and seemed to falter. But
gathered strength again before it hit the coast.
