                    minutes for lunch.






               Semicolon to Join Items in a List






               Ordinarily, items in a list are joined by commas. However, if the items

               themselves contain commas, avoid confusion by using semicolons to

               join the items.




                    Examples of Semicolons to Join Items in a


                    List



                       The plane made stops in Richmond, Virginia; Atlanta, Georgia;

                    and Houston, Texas.



                       The journal article was written by Samuel Ellis; Jametta Holly,

                    Ph.D.; and Laramie Spicer, M.D.
