                        Management

                        Individual Event

You have been hired by the Small Business Administration to prepare an
effective multimedia presentation that explains the four forms of business
ownership: sole proprietorship, partnership, corporation, and franchise.
The multimedia presentation should include details about starting each
type of business, pros and cons for each form of business, investment
requirements, liability for the owner(s), distribution of profits/losses,
and examples of businesses in each category.
You will design a computer-generated multimedia presentation about
different forms of business ownership. No VCR or laser disc may be used.
The presentation content must be on the contestant’s computer hard drive
or on CD-ROM. Graphics, including charts, must be included in the pre-
sentation. National Business Professionals of America grants permission
for the use of the logo and/or organization’s name in the multimedia pre-
sentation. Students are responsible for securing a release form from any
individual whose name, photograph, and/or other information is included
in the presentation. No photographs, text, registered trademarks, or names
may be used without permission. It is the policy of Business Professionals
of America to comply with state and federal copyright laws. Although a
work may be freely accessible on the Internet and contain no statement of
copyright, copyright law provides that such works are protected. Projects
will be disqualified for copyright violation and for not citing a source
and/or receiving permission to use the material.

                           the oral presentation.

                        THINK CRITICALLY
                           1. Why are more businesses counting on multimedia presentations for
                              sales and other promotional purposes?
                           2. Why would a multimedia presentation about forms of business
ownership be useful for the Small Business Administration?
                           3. Why should the multimedia presentation be easy for many individuals
                              to use?
