Work that was completed

         be improved

If there are backlog items that were not completed during the current sprint, you’ll
want to discuss this at the next sprint planning meeting. The product owner will use
information from this meeting to inform project stakeholders of the overall progress.

     Other Methodologies

There are other methods of managing projects you should know about for the exam.
Scrum is an original form of Agile used for software development projects. It follows
the same processes discussed in this chapter.

Waterfall is an approach where each phase of the project is completed in its entirety
before moving to the next phase. This can be a risky methodology because it leaves
little room for adding new requirements or functionality, and it doesn’t perform

reviews or testing of the final product until the end of the project. Final acceptance of
the product also occurs at the end of the project after all the deliverables are complete.
With Agile or Scrum there are continuous reviews and approvals throughout the
project, and you will know right away if you’re off-track. You can use an iterative
waterfall approach that will reduce risk by completing components of work in a given
time frame, but it is still less efficient and effective than the Agile methodology. For the

exam, you should know that the waterfall and Agile methodologies each use an
     iterative approach.

PRINCE2 stands for Projects in Controlled Environments version 2, and it
incorporates quality management into the project management processes. It is a
comprehensive methodology and is supported by the UK government. It’s a
methodology that tends to divide projects into multiple stages.

       Main Street Office Move

You’ve implemented a change control process and established a CCB. The first
change request came from Jason in IT. After meeting with the facilities manager in
the new building, he discovered the power supply feeding the data center will not

be adequate. The change request was submitted for $50,000 for additional
equipment and services. This will exceed the project budget. You decide to meet
with Kate before the CCB meeting to describe the situation and determine whether
there is enough contingency funding to cover this cost (should the change request
be approved by the CCB) or whether there are available funds elsewhere in the
