“Thanks for coming over on a Saturday morning. I just finished
tennis, and the game went on longer than I expected. Anyway, forgive my
appearance.” Zev Friedman looks around the table.
“You must have won, Mr. Friedman. You look pleased.” Michele is just getting
to know PRIDE Systems’ owner.
“Call me Zev. These other folks do. And yes, we won.”
“Yes, sir.” Michele is still a bit formal.
“OK, so, Jared, I understand you want to spend some real money. This
morning you’re going to tell me why, right?”
“That’s why we’re here, Zev. We’ve got a couple of options for you to
consider. Here’s a copy. I’m going to let James take you through it.”
“I can hardly wait.” Zev’s mood is upbeat, but his demeanor and sleepy-eyed
posture don’t fool anyone. They know he’s poised to detect faulty thinking or poor
preparation.
