Additional Keys to Making Teaching and
Learning Easier
We have created a robust package of supplements to support both students and
instructors as they use this book. This package was shaped with the help of our edi-
torial advisor, as well as the help of our reviewers and both student and instructor
focus group participants.
For Instructors
For the convenience of instructors, we offer most of the instructor supplements con-
tent in a variety of formats, in traditional print form as well as on CD and the Web.
Instructor’s Resource Manual Created by Carmen Powers of Monroe
Community College, the Instructor’s Resource Manual includes detailed lecture out-
lines as well as a variety of teaching tips and suggestions, summaries of all the
boxed features, suggested answers to all the questions in the text, and suggestions
for in-class exercises.
Test Bank With more than one thousand questions, the Test Bank provides
essay, true/false, and multiple-choice items that are keyed to the text’s learning
objectives. The questions test both knowledge and application of concepts, and
page references to the main text are provided.
ClassPrep with HMTesting This Instructor’s CD provides a variety of
teaching resources in electronic format, allowing for easy customization to meet
®
specific instructional needs. Files on the disk include the PowerPoint slides, Word
files of the Instructor’s Resource Manual, and Word files of the Test Bank.
HMTesting, also on the CD, is a testing program that allows instructors to generate
and change tests easily and create multiple versions of tests. An online testing fea-
ture enables instructors to administer tests via a local area network or over the Web.
It also has a grade feature that lets users set up sections and record and track grades.
Instructor Website The instructor website includes many of the same
resources as the ClassPrep CD (except testing content) so that instructors have their
choice of how to get this material. In addition, the instructor website includes
sample syllabi, regular updates to text content, and new, current examples that
instructors can bring to class.
PowerPoint Slides Created by Milton Pressley of the University of New
Orleans, the PowerPoint slides present complete lecture outlines for every chapter
that incorporate key exhibits from the text as well as additional exercises, figures,
and links to the Web.
Support for Online Instruction BlackBoard and WebCT courses are
populated with the text’s learning objectives, chapter outlines, the PowerPoint
slides, questions from the textbook with suggested answers, and test bank items.
