            To market a service properly, the first thing you must do is get clear on WHO your ideal participant is and what their
            challenges are.

            PARTICIPANT AVATAR WORKSHEET


            A participant avatar is a comprehensive profile of a participant that defines traits, characteristics, and beliefs. They
            can be used to gain an understanding of a persons background and needs. The importance of defining a participant
            avatar is that it helps answer questions concerning your service. With a participant avatar, you can have a point of
            reference to answer the following questions:

                      Where should you advertise to maximize exposure to your ideal participant?
                      What types of advertisements typically effect your ideal participant?
                      What vocabulary and tone should you use in your marketing efforts?
                      What story should your marketing content be telling?

            These questions and more can be answered by doing some research on your target audience and adding in a little
            imagination to tell a story.  You may end up creating multiple avatars but be careful not to cast the net too widely;
            the more you can target a well-defined audience, the greater success rate you will experience.
