SUSTAINABILITY

                                                                  FUNDING DIVERSIFICATION & STRATEGIES

Sustainability can be defined multiple ways.
For the purposes of this guidebook, we
define sustainability as services that are
            continued because they are necessary,
            valuable and effective.

Sustainability is a critical focus to creating lasting
impact in our communities. Often we receive funds
for a specified amount of time and although impact
is achieved, the key to creating significant change in
our communities is through program sustainability.

It is important to note that sustainability does not
necessarily mean that full programs as they were
originally conceived are continued, rather it can
mean that components of programs evolve and may
need to adjust to community needs and changing
levels of support. The Sustainability Workbook will
guide you through each component of sustainability.
