Time And Time Again
Love looked you in the eye, caught your breath, tightly holding your
hand in her hand.
Time and time again, you pushed her away, wanting to go astray.
You told her that you no longer need her warmth, that you can make
it on your own, out there in the real world.
And so you packed your mind, forcing your thoughts inside the bag-
gage labeled with "lie".
You seemed so sure, so certain you can take care of it all.
Mornings came, you went astray.
Nights came, you started to become afraid.
Monsters visited you in your sleep, with no one to keep you from
harm's way.
Sorrow slowly, but steadily found its way, painting your dreams in
deep nuances of gray.
Now, it all became so subtle, the trouble comes in such great num-
ber.
No matter how hard you try to make the worries melt, you aren't
fooling anyone, except yourself.
Time and time again, you fooled yourself that life's to blame.
"Unfair circumstances", "missed chances", all build up big, tall, lonely
fences, around you.
But also, time and time again, guess what?
Love showed up, she never quit her part.
