Chalice
Dear chalice of discovery, I drank your poison.
Curious I was, like a lamb to the slaughter,
Thinking that what was true I must discover.
I found nothing when I got there, everyone was gone.
The party ended before it had begun.
I don’t know what I expected to find.
Maybe some wisdom, some knowledge,
A little bit of sweet, expensive wine.
I found nothing, and what a joy that was.
If at times we cannot see past our limitations,
It’s because we have some sort of expectations.
They hide the simple fact of 'nothingness'.
Why? I guess it's out of ignorance.
Ignorant is the mind that drinks a little bit of sweet, expensive wine.
Blessed is the soul, who explores the depth and core of it all,
Because only by being stubborn, untamed,
Can one find peace, and thus, open to love truly again.
Dear Chalice, thank you for everything.
Now, I offer you a choice:
Go back to where you came from, or rest here,
Get filled with light, rejoice.
