Running Wild
Have you ever watched one of those science-based documentaries,
in which a group of researchers gather facts about a certain subject
and assume the role of drawing conclusions on behalf of all humani-
ty? It’s one of those documentaries in which a narrative voice tells
you, at the end of the film: „We have to do this and that and then
this and that in order to advance, be better, understand life and so
on..”. It’s like they’re serving lunch: „today we have stew, take it or
starve”. But wait a minute, there’s a McDonald’s just a few blocks
from here. There are other options. Maybe I don’t like stew, or may-
be I just had one yesterday.
Of course that the point here is not about the stew, there’s nothing
wrong with the stew. The point here has to do with feeding on in-
formation unconsciously. Feeding on things other people serve you
as being the final truth. But have you ever wondered, what would
happen if you’d actually take responsibility for your own truth?
Freedom happens. That small thing that makes a huge difference.
I’m not arguing with facts here. I’m just saying they aren’t enough.
You can be an exemplary student of life, but you’ll still suck at prac-
tice. Usually, it goes like that. You can’t have both, not ultimately. I’m
convinced you’ve heard this many times, that real knowledge comes
from raw experience, from taking the bull by its horns. Well, that’s
exactly what I’m inviting you to do. Take your life by its handles, and
walk the path using your own inner, innate compass.
