After a few impressive runs at Redbull Straight Rhythm, Shane McElrath was excited for the upcoming 2016 Monster Energy Supercross. Although, his excitement got the best of him as he ended up with a broken wrist and lacerated liver in November. With his plans to be a top contender once again in the 250 class ruined, McElrath had to come up with a plan B. It was almost as though someone granted his wish because the Troy Lee Red Bull KTM team became the official 250 KTM team; this gave McElrath the opportunity to race the East coast
once he was healed up. With 53 points, McElrath is sitting in 9th overall after having a consistent season so far. If the #30 of Shane McElrath can continue with strong rides like the ones in Detroit and Indianapolis, he could see himself in a battle
for a top 8th position alongside RJ Hampshire and Matthew Bisceglia.
