THE MOTOPLAYGROUND RACE
at Ponca City
Bode Bradford >> 1
Hailing from Midland, Texas, Bode Bradford is
no stranger to rough tracks and rutted terrain.
He welcomes the challenge of a grueling track, knowing that the more technical it becomes, the more he can separate himself by the end of the moto. And when rolling through the gates of the MotoPlayground Race at Ponca City, he knew he’d be in for a real treat once the end of the weekend would arrive; as the track would grow as grotesque as he’d ever seen. Blitzing off the line in second place, he would be just behind Isaac Ling in the early going. Never looking around, and keeping his vision focused forward, Bradford would hunt down the number eighty-nine of Ling. He tried to be as patient as possible, but on lap three, the number twenty-five of Bradford couldn’t wait any longer; he would set the fastest lap, while making the move! With Ling showing him some of the most creative lines on the circuit, the Yamaha of Bradford would flourish once around the Iowa native of Ling. It would be just he and the open road between the checkered flag and he. A two minute, one second lap time to cap off the moto, would place him on the top step of the podium. He was eager and excited to begin the second race, knowing that he could duplicate his performance of the first showing. He would quickly located the rear fender of Isaac Ling yet again, whom he would follow for the first few laps. The track, really beginning to break down
and rut up, would play into Bradfords favor; as his stamina, technique, and skill, would come to life with these breaking bumps swallowing the chassis of his PW50. Ling would continue to lead as the laps would dwindle on, and Bradford would make his place into second permanent. When crossing the line for the final time, Bradford thought he would have finished second; as timing and scoring would suggest. However, after referees, scoring officials, and track crew were brought together, the win was given to Bradford! It was an exciting and intriguing event all around, and Bradford stayed composed enough to fight through it all. A one-one sweep on the day was a performance for the ages, and he looked to eager to move on to the next event to claim a title. It’s time to start racking them up.
